TRUMP DECLINES TO ENDORSE PENCE

President Donald Trump celebrated his 73rd birthday with a surprise call-in to Fox & Friends, where he expressed some uncertainty about Vice President Mike Pence’s future in the Oval Office.

"You can't put me in that position," Trump said during the interview when asked if he would endorse the former Indiana governor for a 2024 presidential run. Eventually he said he would give the idea “strong consideration.”

President’s typically hold off on endorsing their vice presidents, especially so far from the actual election, so this isn’t atypical behavior. President Barack Obama has not endorsed 2020 presidential candidate Joe Biden, though Biden’s campaign has used the vice president’s enduring friendship and collaboration with Obama as a talking point.

Pence has not said whether or not he is considering a presidential run.
